Elizabeth May Wins Nomination In Landslide

Green Party leader Elizabeth May won a landslide victory in the Green Saanich Gulf Islands nomination contest.

"It is so heartening to receive such an overwhelming vote of confidence from the grassroots of our membership," said May in her victory address to over 100 members and guests attending the nominating meeting at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney, BC. "I have been overwhelmed by the response from the community. I am ready to get on with the ‘real’ campaign – to win a seat in parliament. Every single day, voters in this riding tell me that they have worked or voted for other parties in the past, but now are uniting for real, positive change."
